Planning guide and template

Crowdfunding Blueprint

Plan a transparent reward-based campaign with cost checks, fulfillment responsibilities and honest supporter communication. Not investment or fundraising advice.

SECTION 1 / PREVIEW

Define the promise

Separate a donation, a reward purchase and an investment: they have different obligations, and this guide covers planning a reward-based campaign only. State what supporters receive, who will deliver it and what is not promised. Do not imply charitable status, tax deductibility, community endorsement or guaranteed outcomes.

Try the exercise

What is the exact supporter promise, and what claims must you avoid?

Worked fictional example: Fictional reward: an original digital activity booklet, not equity, a charitable receipt or a promised social outcome.

Final task in the full edition

Build a reward-cost table, minimum feasible goal, rights register, capacity limit and delay response. Decide whether you can responsibly launch.

Check: every reward has delivery cost; rights are confirmed; target is based on full costs; capacity covers success; shortfall and delays have a response. Revenue is not contribution, and reaching a target does not prove fulfillment capacity.

Version 1.1. Bring an original deliverable and verified rights; no funding is promised. Personal use or internal use within one purchaser-owned business/project. Share your outputs, not the supplied content. Classroom redistribution and resale are excluded.

What you will do in the scenario lab

Reward feasibility lab. The fictional case requires 20 rewards but can fulfill only 12. Explain which assumption must change before launch; raising the target alone cannot fix capacity.

Editable fields: Reward price; Variable cost per reward including labor; Fixed campaign cost; Available fulfillment hours; Hours per reward. Includes a fictional example, invalid-input feedback and backup/restore for your work.

Allow 1–3 hours for written exercises and the applied lab; independent evidence gathering takes longer. This is a planning estimate, not tested completion time.
