Business Plan Template
Build an evidence-led business plan, not a collection of optimistic claims. Includes a worked fictional example and editable sections for your own offer.
SECTION 1 / PREVIEW
The offer
A useful offer names one customer, one problem and one concrete deliverable. Start narrow enough that you can explain what is included, what is excluded and how long delivery takes. Separate the buyer from the person who uses the product when those are different people. Avoid claims like “everyone needs this.” Record the assumption you most need to test before spending.
Try the exercise
Who pays, what problem do they have, and exactly what will they receive?
Worked fictional example: Fictional example: a local bicycle-cleaning service for commuters. One basic clean, no mechanical repairs; customer brings the bicycle to an agreed location.

Final task in the full edition
Write your customer, deliverable, exclusions, evidence, price, direct costs, capacity and four weekly actions. End with a stop/revise/repeat rule.
Check: customer evidence is distinguished from guesses; costs include your time; capacity fits available hours; each milestone has an owner; the stop rule is measurable. If any is missing, revise that part before committing money.
Version 1.1. Bring a business idea, estimated costs and customer evidence. Personal use or internal use within one purchaser-owned business/project. Share your outputs, not the supplied content. Classroom redistribution and resale are excluded.
What you will do in the scenario lab
Capacity and contribution lab. Use the fictional case to explain why CAD330 sales is not CAD330 profit. Then enter your own estimates and test twice the delivery time.
Editable fields: Selling price per order; Direct cost per order including labor; Available delivery hours per week; Hours required per order; Weekly overhead. Includes a fictional example, invalid-input feedback and backup/restore for your work.
Allow 1–3 hours for written exercises and the applied lab; independent evidence gathering takes longer. This is a planning estimate, not tested completion time.
